The Wednesday Night Classic at Strategic Minds Chess Academy is a monthly slow-chess tournament designed for players who enjoy thoughtful, classical time controls—without giving up their weekends.
This event features one USCF-rated game each Wednesday night, creating a relaxed but competitive environment where players can focus deeply, improve steadily, and build long-term tournament experience.
Each game uses a long, thoughtful time control of G/70 with a 10-second delay, ideal for players who enjoy classical chess or want to sharpen deeper calculation and endgame technique.

Registration Details This registration grants you entry into the rated Saturday Classic and includes the USCF rating submission fee, ensuring all games are officially rated. Please note that this entry fee does not cover United States Chess Federation (USCF) membership dues—an active membership is required to participate. While the club provides a limited number of loaner chess sets, clocks, pens, and score sheets, players are strongly encouraged to bring their own equipment whenever possible
