The Strategic Minds Class Championship is a premier competitive event designed for players of all ages and experience levels, offering a fair, exciting, and structured tournament environment. Unlike open events where everyone competes together, a Class Championship separates participants into rating-based sections — Open, Under 1600, and Under 1200 — allowing players to compete against opponents of similar strength. This format creates balanced pairings and meaningful competition for beginners, intermediate players, and advanced competitors alike.


The championship embodies the mission of Strategic Minds: to create high-quality, growth-focused chess events that promote improvement, confidence, and community. With rating classes clearly defined, players have a genuine opportunity to fight for class honors, earn rating gains, and achieve personal milestones in a supportive yet competitive atmosphere.

    Registration Details This registration grants you entry into the rated Saturday Classic and includes the USCF rating submission fee, ensuring all games are officially rated. Please note that this entry fee does not cover United States Chess Federation (USCF) membership dues—an active membership is required to participate. While the club provides a limited number of loaner chess sets, clocks, pens, and score sheets, players are strongly encouraged to bring their own equipment whenever possible
